How It Works

Prediction Rugby is a free, user based website where you predict the results of rugby matches and compete against others in the league table. The better the prediction the more points you are awarded, and increase the chance of moving up the table. Read the sections below to see a summary of the features and areas around the website...

Your Profile

Your profile is the focal point of your progress on prediction rugby, outlining your recently placed predictions and points awarded, along with other information. You can view your overall score accumulated from points in all of your leagues, and be shown your position on the user table - where you are fighting against other users to reach the top. You are also shown a summary and accuracy of predictions placed. The three boxes show how many predictions have been perfect (referring to a correct outcome and correct score), correct outcomes where the scores have been wrong, and any predictions that have been incorrect. Your special tokens (see below) are also shown on this page, where you can see how many are left and what each does. As this is your user profile, other users can see your statistics, and this space allows you to change any settings and select a profile picture.

Leagues/Adding Predictions

Adding predictions is easy and can be achieved within a few simple steps. You first select the appropriate league which you are focusing on, and then can see all of the available matches listed on screen. Any games which are available to add a prediction will be shown in orange and display an 'Add Prediction' button. This is when you enter your prediction for the game result, and can choose any additional special tokens to be used for this match.

Click the predict button to to finalise, and then simply wait for the game to finish and the result to be added. In the meantime you can edit or delete your prediction until the match starts, at which point the predictions are frozen and you will be awarded the appropriate points. You can see your recent predictions and their progress via your profile page (it will display the amount of points awarded when the results have been updated).

Special Tokens

When placing predictions there are special tokens which affect the awarded score for that game. Some may double your score, while others can be used incase your prediction turns out to be incorrect. You can see which tokens are available to you from your profile on the right hand side above the navigation buttons. When entering in your score for a prediction you can also select and view your available tokens. Simply toggle its button to use the token for that prediction, or hover over it to view more details and its purpose. Dont forget, each special token is limited and can only be used a certain number of times in each season.

Scoring

A user's score on Prediction Rugby is what differentiates one person from another, and is the main way to increase up the user table. When you have placed a prediction for an upcoming game and the result has been added, Prediction Rugby will calculate how many points you should be awarded (see table). If you manage to guess the outcome of the match correct, referring to a win, lose, or a draw then you will receive 4 points. However, if you manage to predict the actual points of the game you will be awarded bonus points. If both scores are correct then you will be awarded an extra 6 points (equalling a total of 10). If one score is correct then an extra 2 points will be given (a total of 6 points). If the outcome is incorrect then you will not be awarded any points and you may want to improve your predicting skills!

User Scores/Tables

Each user on Prediction Rugby has their own score depending on the accuracy of their predictions. Users are then ranked on this figure, allowing us to create a league table, which is shown on the home page. Your position is shown on your profile page in the top right corner. You need to try and reach the top before the end of the season...Now Its Time To Begin Predicting!
